L'archidiocèse catholique romain de Verapoly est un bastion de foi chrétienne niché dans la ville de Kochi, en Inde. Avec son histoire qui remonte aux premiers jours du christianisme dans le pays, cette circonscription ecclésiastique est un témoignage vivant de la richesse spirituelle et culturelle de la région.

Fondé initialement comme le Vicariat Apostolique du Malabar en 1659, l'archidiocèse a évolué au fil des siècles pour devenir une entité religieuse de premier plan. Il a été érigé en archidiocèse en 1886 et depuis lors, il joue un rôle clé dans le paysage religieux de Kochi et des régions avoisinantes.

La cathédrale Saint-François-Xavier, siège de l'archidiocèse, est un édifice emblématique qui incarne l'architecture religieuse et la ferveur du catholicisme dans la région.
