Facts About Kënga Magjike
Kënga Magjike is a prominent annual music competition in Albania, organized by Televizioni Klan since its inception in 1999. The show has become a staple of Albanian television, with the charismatic Ardit Gjebrea serving as its main host. Originally broadcast by Radio Televizioni Shqiptar, Televizioni Klan has assumed broadcasting responsibilities since 2004.
Over the years, various broadcasters such as RTSH, Klan TV, TVA, RTV NRG (Albania), and RTV21, RTK (Kosovo) have contributed to bringing the event to viewers. Created by Ardit Gjebrea, the competition typically takes place in November. In 2005, the format underwent a transformation, introducing the songs a month before the semi-finals and finals, thereby allowing the audience ample time to vote for their favorites.
Since 2006, the songs have been presented weekly on the show "E Diela Shqiptare" on Klan TV. Established artists receive a direct pass to the semi-finals, while newcomers are evaluated by a professional jury. Kënga Magjike is celebrated for its diverse musical lineup, showcasing talent from Albania and neighboring countries such as Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Montenegro. The festival has seen the return of many renowned Albanian singers and has significantly contributed to the local music scene.
