The North America is famous for its numerous national parks, including the world’s oldest Yellowstone National Park, known primarily for its large concentration of hot springs, geysers and mud volcanoes. Another notable park is the Arizona National Park of the Grand Canyon, with its 280 mi long Grand Canyon of Colorado. The national parks are also one of Canada’s greatest treasures. In the Banff National Park and Jasper National Park, located in the Rocky Mountains, you will also find unique flora and fauna.

The North American region includes many monuments related to the history of indigenous people and remains of the continent’s explorers. From the Canadian L’Anse aux Meadows, a former Nordic settlement that brings us closer to the everyday life of Vikings, to the pre-Colombian city of Teotihuacán in Mexico, which is the cradle of Toltec and Aztec cultures. Also worth mentioning are the five 18th century missionary complexes in San Antonio, where colonial influences harmonize with the culture of Coahuiltecan Indians.

A characteristic element of the continent are also large modern cities. Visiting the United States, it is impossible not to see New York City with the Statue of Liberty or skyscrapers in Manhattan. In Los Angeles, on the other hand, you should definitely visit the Beverly Hills neighborhood and places of Hollywood film industry. The Mexican capital, Mexico City, is one of the world’s most populous cities, which is fascinating on the one hand and full of poverty and overpopulation problems on the other.
