The Zoological and Botanical Garden of La Plata is located on the Paseo del Bosque in the city of La Plata, capital of the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. With its 17 hectares of surface, it is the second largest state zoo in the country after that of the City of Buenos Aires. The average number of visitors per year is around 250 thousand people. It has 122 species, of which 42 are mammals, 62 are birds, 17 are reptiles and one is an amphibian.
