Cerro Piltriquitrón

Facts and practical information
Mount Piltriquitrón, also known as "el Piltri" by the locals, is a mountain located in the Andes Mountains, east of the district of El Bolsón in the Province of Río Negro, Argentina. Its summit is 2,260 meters above sea level.
On its slopes grows a lenga forest, which suffered a fire due to human negligence in 1978. In 1997, thanks to the initiative of the sculptor Marcelo López, the remains of the forest began to be carved, carving the trees and giving life to the Carved Forest, one of the attractions of the place.
Piltriquitrón Hill is one of the main tourist attractions in the city of El Bolsón, where active tourism activities are developed such as ATV tours, paragliding, 4x4 transfers, horseback riding, mountaineering activities among others. In its foothills there are cypress and lenga forests.
