The Manzana Jesuítica de Córdoba, is an urban block located in the heart of the city, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 2000. It includes: the Domestic Chapel, the National College of Monserrat, the Church of the Society of Jesus, the former headquarters of the National University of Córdoba and the Residence.
The first Jesuits arrived around 1589, establishing themselves officially in 1599, in this way Cordoba became the central point of evangelization tasks of the Society of Jesus. In that year the Superior of the order, Father Juan Romero, accepts the donation of the property that is part of the current Manzana Jesuítica.
It is considered the fifth artificial wonder of Cordoba.
