Facts About Cinereus ringtail possum
The cinereus ringtail possum, also known as the Daintree River ringtail possum, is a captivating species native to northeastern Queensland, Australia. For a long time, it was believed to be the same as the Herbert River ringtail possum, but recent research has confirmed that they are, in fact, two distinct species with different physical characteristics.
The cinereus ringtail possum is distinguished by its striking cinnamon or brown fur, and its appearance is often compared to that of a lemur. These possums inhabit the lush montane tropical rainforests and can be found in three specific areas north of Cairns: the Carbine Tableland, the Mount Windsor Tableland, and the Thornton Peak massif.
