Kalozha Church, Grodno

The Kalozha Church, officially known as the Church of Saints Boris and Gleb, is a historical and architectural gem nestled in the city of Grodno, Belarus. This Orthodox church, which dates back to the 12th century, is an exceptional example of the Black Ruthenian architectural style that is unique to the region.

Constructed primarily of brick, the church is adorned with intricate ceramic ornamentation that sets it apart from other religious structures of its time. Its walls feature rows of colored tiles arranged in patterns, a technique not commonly seen in the architecture of other Eastern Slavic nations. Despite suffering damage from natural disasters and human interference over the centuries, the Kalozha Church has been carefully restored, preserving its original splendor.

One of the most striking features of the church is its leaning walls, which have survived despite the erosion of the hillside on which the church stands.
