St. Remi Church
Facts and practical information
The church of Saint-Rémi de Franc-Waret, surrounded by a cemetery, is located in the center of the village, a hundred meters from the castle of Franc-Waret. The whole, as well as the presbytery located next to the church, were classified in 1955 by the Royal Commission for Monuments, Sites and Excavations. As early as the 16th century, a small church was built on the site of the present church. From this period, only a few stones remain in the courtyard of the presbytery and a fragment of a gothic tombstone dated 1559 in the wall of the sacristy. In the 17th century, the church was also named "of the Immaculate Conception".
