Facts and practical information
The Minerva Fountain is a fountain erected in the Place du Grand Sablon in Brussels, Belgium, as a testamentary gift from Lord Thomas Bruce, 2nd Earl of Ailesbury and 3rd Earl of Elgin, in gratitude to the city for the hospitality he received there during his exile.
It replaces since 1751 the fountain which was there since 1661 on the site of a marsh called Zavelpoel. It was made by Jacques Bergé.
