Facts About Doflein's salamander
Doflein's salamander is a fascinating creature that belongs to the Plethodontidae family. This unique species can be found in Belize, Guatemala, and Honduras. They thrive in subtropical and tropical moist lowland forests as well as montane forests. Interestingly, they also adapt to plantations and formerly lush forests that have now become degraded.
One notable habitat for Doflein's salamander is the Belizean pine forests. However, despite their adaptability, these salamanders face significant threats, primarily due to habitat loss. As their natural environments are destroyed or altered, their survival becomes increasingly precarious.
