Facts About Guianan puffbird
The Guianan puffbird, a captivating avian member of the Bucconidae family, inhabits the forests and woodlands of northeastern South America, including countries such as Venezuela, Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana.
Initially, ornithologists believed that the Guianan puffbird was conspecific with the white-necked puffbird. However, in 2004, researchers identified critical differences, such as variations in bill size, plumage, and vocalizations. Consequently, the South American Classification Committee (SACC) reclassified them as distinct species.
