The Colonial Family Museum is an artistic, historical, memorial, and exhibition space located in the city of Blumenau, created from objects donated by Edith Gaertner, former actress and grand niece of German consul Victor Gaertner. Its purpose is to exhibit pieces and utensils common to middle-class families in the first years of German colonization in Brazil. In 2007, the museum was declared a National Heritage Site by the National Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage. The museum complex has a collection of 6,200 pieces, occupying an area of 15,000 square meters.
