Bangu Shopping is a shopping mall located in the neighborhood of Bangu in the city of Rio de Janeiro, capital of the Brazilian state of the same name. It opened on October 30, 2007.
It is served by several anchor stores, such as Lojas Americanas, Leroy Merlin, C&A, Leader Magazine, Casa & Vídeo, Casas Bahia, Ponto Frio, Cinesystem, Magic Games, and the Unisuam college. All the areas are already leased.
It is located on the site of the old textile factory, on which the filming of Olga took place.
The mall has already participated in Earth Hour, a global campaign created by the WWF organization, together with other malls, where they performed actions such as reducing the lights on the façade and internal lights, generating savings of about 472 kWs of energy. The lights of the totem with the name of BarraShopping and of the facade of the New York City Center, including the sign and the replica of the Statue of Liberty, were completely turned off.
