Old Town
The old town in Plovdiv is an architectural and historical reserve located on three of Plovdiv's hills: Nebet Tepe, Dzhambaz Tepe and Taksim Tepe.
Trakiya district
Trakiya is the largest neighbourhood of Plovdiv as well as one of the six districts of the city located in its south-eastern parts. It has 61,920 inhabitants. Its construction began in 1973, in 1976 it was inaugurated as a neighbourhoods and in 1983 it became a district.
Stolipinovo
Stolipinovo is a district of the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv and the most populous predominantly Romani-inhabited district on the Balkans with a population of about 40,000 people.
Komatevo
Komatevo is a neighbourhood of the city of Plovdiv, southern Bulgaria. It has 6,500 inhabitants. Komatevo was a village up to 1969 when it was incorporated into Plovdiv together with Proslav.
Arman Mahala
Harman Mahala is the fourth biggest Roma ghetto in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. It is located in the northern part of the city near the road to Karlovo. It is the smallest living area of ethnic minority representatives, comprising around 2000 people.
Sheker Mahala
Sheker Mahala is the second biggest Roma ghetto in Plovdiv. Its population is 10,000. 2,000 of them identify themselves as Roma, the rest identify themselves as people of Turkish origin.
Proslav
Proslav is a neighbourhood of Plovdiv, southern Bulgaria. It was a village up to 1969 when it was incorporated into Plovdiv along with Komatevo. The most convenient road to Plovdiv is the Peshtera Highway. Another major transport link is Sofia-Plovdiv highway.
Hadji Hassan Mahala
Hadji Hassan Mahala is the third biggest Roma ghetto in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. With a population of 8,000, residents generally regard themselves as being of the Turkish ethnicity. They do not identify themselves as part of the communities living in Stolipinovo and Sheker Mahala.
Southern district
Southern district is one of the six districts of Plovdiv in southern Bulgaria. It has a population of 79,330. The district includes the so-called "Küçük Paris", Belomorski and Ostromila quarters and Komatevo.
Western district
Western district is a district of Plovdiv, southern Bulgaria. The district includes the quarters Proslav, Hristo Smirnenski, Mladeshki Halm and Mladost, and has 39,158 inhabitants. The largest sports complex in Eastern Europe is located in a pleasant park on the southern banks of the Maritsa river.
Eastern district
Eastern district is a district of Plovdiv, southern Bulgaria. It has 60,535 inhabitants. The stadium of PFC Botev Plovdiv and the beer factory of Kamenitza are located in the district. The infamous neighbourhoods of Stolipinovo and Izgrev are also situated there.
Kamenitsa
Kamenitsa is a residential neighbourhood in the east part of Plovdiv, in Bulgaria. It is famous for its local brewery, Kamenitza AD.
