When Is the Best Time To Visit Cambodia?
The answer to the question of what is the best month to visit Cambodia depends on what you are interested in doing during your stay. Here you can see an overview of each month and its typical weather conditions.
Climate of Cambodia
Cambodia has a tropical climate that relies heavily on the monsoon circulation. It is characterized by high air temperatures, relatively high humidity and two seasons - dry and rainy.
The dry season lasts from November to mid-April. Precipitation is rare then, and the average air temperature ranges from 20°C to 25°C. Humidity also decreases, making the climate more welcoming to visitors.
The rainy season lasts from May to October, at which time the southwest monsoon brings rains in the form of intense but short-lived downpours in the afternoon. Annual rainfall oscillates between 1,000 mm - 2,000 mm. The highest rainfall is recorded in mountainous areas (5000 mm), and the lowest in lowland central areas (750 mm - 1400 mm). During the monsoon period, the average air temperature reaches 38°C. With high humidity close to 70% and high temperatures, the country is overgrown with lush vegetation.
