Facts About Mysteryland
Mysteryland is a premier electronic dance music festival in the Netherlands, organized by ID&T, a prominent local promoter. As the inaugural dance music festival in the country, it holds the distinction of being the oldest. The event is set in the picturesque Haarlemmermeerse Bos in Haarlemmermeer, a venue that also hosted the Dutch gardening festival Floriade in 2002. Typically, Mysteryland takes place on the last weekend of August, with the dates for 2020 scheduled for August 28-30. Since 2015, the festival has expanded from a one-day event to a full three-day experience, complete with camping options. It attracts over 100,000 visitors annually from more than 100 countries.
In 2011, Mysteryland ventured into the global arena with an edition in Chile, marking its first event outside the Netherlands. The festival further extended its international reach with Mysteryland USA, which debuted on Memorial Day weekend in May 2014 at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, the historic site of the 1969 Woodstock festival. The American edition featured prominent headliners such as Kaskade, Moby, Steve Aoki, Dillon Francis, and Flosstradamus. Unfortunately, Mysteryland USA 2017 was canceled.
