Cui Zhiyuan Memorial Hall, located in Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China, was built to commemorate Cui Zhiyuan, a Silla scholar who served as an official in Yangzhou, and is the first memorial hall of a foreign celebrity in mainland China approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China. The total construction cost of the memorial hall is about RMB 20 million, and the first phase of the project was completed and opened on October 15, 2007.
The Cui Zhiyuan Memorial Hall is located at the southwest corner of the Tang Nga City site in Yangzhou, adjacent to the Yangzhou Tang City Site Museum. The Tang Nga City is the site of the Tang Huainan Festival Office, where Cui Zhiyuan served and traveled, and where his masterpiece Guiyuan Penjiao was compiled.
