Qingdao European Prison, also known as Qingdao German Prison, is located at No. 25 Changzhou Road in the south of Qingdao City, Shandong Province, People's Republic of China, east of Qingdao Tianhou Palace, built before August 1900 and put into use in November of that year, its history as a prison continued until 1995, and is the earliest preserved colonial prison in China.
The complex is mainly built in the German fortress style and includes 26 buildings, such as the dining room, bathhouse, stable, righteous prison room, well, watchtower and prison workshop, covering an area of 11.8 acres, with a construction area of 8297.5 square meters, and is now a collection of prison buildings and judicial heritage collection as one of the Qingdao German Prison Museum.
