The Dominican monastery and the church are religious facilities in the city of Dubrovnik.
They are located in the eastern part of the old town along the city walls. The Dominicans founded the monastery in Dubrovnik in 1225. It consists of a complex of buildings, among which are the church of St. Dominic, bell tower, cloister and three monastery wings. It was not determined with certainty when construction began, some data date from the 13th century. At first he was outside the city walls, but due to his defense importance, the small council of 1301 decided that the people would help the people's construction financially and his work. Within the monastery is the work of the Venetian master, Paolo Veneziana. The monastery museum contains valuable manuscripts and 217 incunabula, paintings from the 15th and 16th centuries of Dubrovnik: Lovre Dobričević, Mihajla Hamzić and Nikola Božidarević and the altar deck "St. Magdalen", the work of the famous Italian painter Tizian from 1550. The church is one of the largest Gothic buildings on the eastern Adriatic coast. The drafts were made by Michelozzo di Bartolomeo, and the construction was led by the Masters of Dubrovnik Utešimović, Radomanović, etc.
