White and Samar rocks are a strict reserve and are located in the central part of the Velika Kapela in Primorje-Gorski Kotar and Karlovac County. The reserve was proclaimed on January 24, 1985 on an area of 1175 ha.
The relief covers numerous bizarre limestone rocks. On the stone blocks, the forest of fir, the spruce of that beech grows.
The highest peak of the Samarski rocks is 1302 m, and west of them are white rocks with the highest peak of 1335 m. In 1952, the mountaineers of PDS "Velebit" from Zagreb raised the "Ratkov shelter".
The reserve contains the most different phenomena of the karst nature.
Flora, for example, is a runolist, heartbreaker, jewel. In the preserved nature, they live, for example, bears, weasels, blows and kuna.
