The painting "St Mary Magdalene in Ecstasy" also known as "The Death of St Mary Magdalene" was created by the renowned artist Peter Paul Rubens around 1619-1620. This captivating artwork depicts Mary Magdalene being gently supported by two angels. Originally, it was commissioned for the Friars Minor in Ghent. However, in 1794, French troops seized the painting and transported it to Paris. Today, this masterpiece can be admired at the Palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille, where it is currently housed.
