Temple du Goût, Nantes
Facts and practical information
The Temple du Goût is a private mansion built from 1753 to 1754 by the architect Pierre Rousseau on the Ile Feydeau in Nantes, whose main facade is currently at 16 allée Duguay-Trouin.
Classified as a historical monument on August 17, 1945, it is one of the few private mansions in Nantes to be entirely classified. Remarkable in particular for its pyramid-shaped façade, it is one of the most beautiful examples of the characteristic style of 18th century Nantes buildings, sometimes called "Nantes baroque" - a local variant of the rocaille style.
