Saint-Léger Church, Cognac
Facts and practical information
The church of Saint-Léger is the largest church in Cognac. Formerly the priory of the Benedictines, it is now the main parish church of the town. Built from 1130 onwards, it was enlarged and redesigned over the following three centuries, which explains the presence of numerous architectural styles, a unique combination in a region where the Romanesque style predominates.
Located at the intersection of the pedestrian streets Aristide Briand and Angouleme, in the heart of the historic center, it is classified as a historical monument since May 28, 1883.
