The théâtre de la Manufacture is a theater located in Nancy, in the former tobacco factory, and has the status of national dramatic center.
Created for Henri Degoutin, directed by Anne Delbée from 1987 to 1991, Charles Tordjman from 1992 to 2010, then by Michel Didym from 2010 to 2021.
Julia Vidit has been in charge since January 1, 2021.
Since 1996, the Passages festival has been held there, dedicated to Eastern European theater. Creators from Eastern Europe and Asia were invited to perform in Lorraine. Since 2011, the festival takes place in Metz.
This theater has three rooms: the large room with 354 seats since the renovation work was completed in July 2011; the Fabrique, a small modular room with 140 seats; the rehearsal room with 60 seats.
From 2010 to May 2011, the theater was undergoing a renovation and a general reorganization. The 2010-2011 season was therefore relocated to the André-Malraux Cultural Center in Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy as well as to other venues in the Greater Nancy area such as the Poirel ensemble.
