Facts and practical information
The castle of Bazouges is an ancient fortress built in the town of Bazouges-sur-le-Loir in the 11th century to defend the Upper Anjou from any attempts by the House of Blois or the county of Maine. The castle was deeply modified in the 15th century in order to reinforce the defense of Anjou during the Hundred Years War. The castle stands on the banks of the Loir.
