Château de Jallanges

The castle of Jallanges is a private historical monument castle still inhabited by its owners, located in France on the famous vineyard of Vouvray, in the commune of Vernou-sur-Brenne, in the department of Indre-et-Loire in the region Centre-Val de Loire.
Built on the foundations of a fortress dating back to the 11th century, the first castle belonged to one of the 50 knights bannerets, an armed guard instigated by King Philip Augustus.
The present building has been registered as a historical monument since June 22, 1946 and has been open to visitors since 1984.
