Facts and practical information

The Church of the Annunciation is a troglodytic Catholic church located in Haute-Isle, France. It is the only church of this type in Île-de-France, which makes its main interest. Only the bell tower is in masonry, and even the exterior façade is nothing but chalk rock left in place as such. The unique nave is entirely excavated in the rock. The church has been classified as a historical monument since 1926.
