Phare de la Teignouse
Facts and practical information
The Teignouse lighthouse is a Morbihan lighthouse located between the Quiberon peninsula and the island of Houat, in the extension of the Pointe du Conguel. It marks the passage of the Teignouse to leave the bay of Quiberon, western part of Mor braz, in the direction of Belle-Île-en-Mer. Built in 1843, it was first put into service on January 1, 1845.
Electrified in the 1970's, with the help of a wind generator, its last guardians left it for good in July 1983 after its complete automation. Today, the wind generator has been abandoned in favor of photovoltaic panels.
