The Basque Museum and History of Bayonne presents a historiographic and ethnographic collection dedicated to the Basque Country in France. It ranges from the daily life of the shepherd and the farmer since protohistory, tools, domestic and traditional arts, paintings, games and dances, to the Basque identity through the centuries.
Located in Bayonne, it was awarded the "Musée de France" label in 2003 and has been managed since 2007 by the Syndicat mixte du musée basque, which is made up of the city of Bayonne, the Côte Basque-Adour agglomeration and the Conseil général des Pyrénées-Atlantiques.
