Château de Stors
Facts and practical information
The castle of Stors is a French castle of the eighteenth century located in the hamlet of Stors on the town of L'Isle-Adam in the department of Val-d'Oise and the region of Ile-de-France, on the hillsides of the valley of the Oise.
The estate, which extends over the communes of L'Isle-Adam and Mériel, is included in the classified site of the Chauvry valley. In the 19th century, it extended as far as the other bank of the river, the vegetable garden being located on the territory of what is today the municipality of Butry-sur-Oise.
Built at the beginning of the 18th century and embellished by Pierre Contant d'Ivry for the Prince of Conti, the castle was severely damaged by a bombing during the Second World War.
