Church of Our Lady, Cholet
Facts and practical information
Notre Dame Church is located in the heart of the historic center of Cholet, in the diocese of Angers and the department of Maine-et-Loire in France.
The city's main religious building, this neo-Gothic sanctuary, inspired by the aesthetics of the great cathedrals of northern France, is distinguished by its imposing size, which makes it the second largest church in the diocese, after the cathedral of Saint-Maurice in Angers. Its two openwork stone spires, which reach a height of 65 meters, make it an essential landmark in the urban landscape.
The construction of the church lasted a little over thirty years, from 1854 to 1887. It is listed as a historical monument since 1999.
