Facts and practical information
The collegiate church of Saint-Barthélemy de Pimbo is a former collegiate church located in the commune of Pimbo, in the French department of Landes and the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
The first mentions of the building date back to the 11th century, but local legend attributes the foundation of the institution to Charlemagne. The oldest parts of the building were built in the 12th century. The entire church, as well as a Romanesque room under the presbytery adjoining the church, were registered as historical monuments in 1998. Several of the objects preserved there are also classified as historical monuments.
The church is a stage on the Via Podiensis or Route du Puy of the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela.
