The castle of La Baume is an imposing castle, austere on the outside but richly decorated on the inside, former possession of the barony of Peyre, also known as the "Versailles of Gévaudan". It is located in the commune of Prinsuéjols in Lozère, between Marvejols and Aumont-Aubrac. Located at an altitude of 1 200 meters, it is the highest castle in France.
