Facts and practical information
The milestone of Bruère-Allichamps is a Roman milestone visible in Bruère-Allichamps, France, replaced in a sarcophagus in the High Middle Ages. It is arranged in monumental column on the place of the old village of Bruère, at the end of the XVIIIth century, and is then supposed to mark the geographical center of France.
It is one of the rare ancient markers indicating three different routes, here to other stations in the city of the Bituriges Cubes, a Romanized Gallic people.
