Facts and practical information

Larina, or barred spur of Hières-sur-Amby, is an archaeological site located at Hières-sur-Amby, in the department of Isère, in the Rhône-Alpes region.

The site contains numerous vestiges of its occupation during several periods ranging from the Bronze Age to the High Middle Ages. Built on a rocky limestone spur dominating the upper Rhone River by more than 200 meters, the site is defended by an artificial levee that delimits an area of 21 hectares. The site has been classified as a historical monument since April 12, 1983, when it is also referenced as the barred spur of Annoisin-Chatelans.
