The Cap Camarat lighthouse, in Ramatuelle, built between 1829 and 1832 south of the Cape of Saint-Tropez, is a square tower of smooth masonry on a square building.
It is the second lighthouse in France by the height of its light source, 129.80 meters above sea level.
The lighthouse is very close to the semaphore of Camarat, administered by the French Navy, where watchmen keep watch day and night.
In the semaphore premises is the DSC transmitter. It is a worldwide system for distress and safety at sea.
The lighthouse, managed by the Service des phares et balises, is remotely controlled by the Porquerolles station.
