Chapel of Mercy, Metz
Facts and practical information
The Chapel of Mercy is an old Catholic building located rue de la Chèvre in Metz in the district of Metz-Centre opposite the church of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption.
This building is the only vestige of a poorly known building complex built and modified successively in the 13th, 16th and 19th centuries. Transformed into a convent-boarding school by the Misericordia sisters, the site, mostly built during the Renaissance, was subject to neo-Renaissance style additions before being almost entirely destroyed in the 1960s and 1970s to be replaced by the Notre-Dame Elementary School buildings.
