Akanés

Akanes is a delightful Greek confection resembling loukoumi but distinguished by a unique twist—it’s flavored with fresh goat's milk butter instead of fruit essences. This special treat is exclusively made in the town of Serres, located in Northern Greece.

The name "akanes" originates from the Ottoman era in Greece when it was called "hakanes halva" meaning royal halva. Today, akanes is primarily available in the Serres region, though you might also find it in specialty shops across Greece if you’re fortunate.
