Postamúzeum, Balatonszemes

The Postal Museum in Balatonszemes can be visited in the former horse shunting station and its courtyard. Inside, it shows the postal service for letters, parcels and passengers.

Part of the courtyard is a covered carriage track with a long line of mainly horse and motor-drawn transport vehicles. The largest object is a railway mobile stagecoach, which was always located between the locomotive and the passenger cars. Postmen processed mail and parcels as they travelled. At the stations, they both delivered the mail and received the mail sent in the direction of the train, packed in standard postal bags.
