The Vörösmarty Theatre in downtown Székesfehérvár has a great history and a leading role in the history of theatre in Hungary.Founded in 1874, its main building is one of the first professional stone theatres in the country. The most outstanding Hungarian theatre artists have performed on its stage in more than one hundred and forty years of its history. Many of the actors of the past decades and of the present generation began their careers here, which has borne Vörösmarty's name since 1913. Its main building is one of the most important monuments of the Fő utca. Its director since 2012 is János Szikora, director and actor.
