St. Anthony of Padua Church in Eger is the dominant building on Dobó István Square, the second largest church in the city after the main cathedral, and the third largest church in Heves County after the main cathedral and St. Bartholomew's Church in Gyöngyös. On the eastern side stands the former Minorite monastery, built between 1773-75, and on the western side the town hall. The former monastery is now home to the St Hedvig High School Girls' College.
