How much do you have to spend on groceries per day in Iraq?

When shopping for groceries in local stores and markets, the average daily cost of food expenses will range from 3731 IQD (10.99 PLN) to 5435 IQD (16.01 PLN) when buying the cheapest products. However, if you choose slightly more expensive products, you can expect to pay from 4804 IQD (14.15 PLN) to 7306 IQD (21.52 PLN) per day. These figures are based on daily meals consisting of approximately 2200-2400 kcal and may vary slightly depending on the city.

Food and beverage prices in Iraq

Popular food products found on store shelves in Iraq include bananas, rice, bread, onions, eggs, tomatoes, cheese, beef and potatoes, among others. Prices for a kilo of these products range from 0.53 IQD (2.04 PLN) for a kilo of onions to 9.87 IQD (38.08 PLN) for a kilo of beef. The price of white rice is 1.25 IQD (4.82 PLN) per kilo, while a loaf of fresh white bread costs 0.78 IQD (3.01 PLN) per half kilo. Bananas cost 0.98 IQD (3.78 PLN) per kilo, while apples cost 0.84 IQD (3.24 PLN) per kilo.

Water, available in 1.5-liter bottles, costs 0.51 IQD (1.97 PLN). Dairy prices in Iraq, on the other hand, are as follows: 1 liter of milk costs about 1.03 IQD (3.97 PLN), and 1 kilogram of locally produced cheese is an expense of 4.33 IQD (16.7 PLN). Chicken filet, which is a common ingredient in meat dishes, costs in the range of 4.04 IQD (15.59 PLN) per kilo.
