Almaty Botanical Garden is a research institution in the Institute of Botany and Phytointroduction. He was established in 1932 in Almaty. Until 1967, the Kazakh branch of the USSR was renamed the Republican Botanian. From 1967 to 1994 he was on the right of independent research institution, and since 1995 became part of the Institute of Botany and Phytointroduction. The territory of the land is 104 hectares. It is located in the foothills of the Trans-Ili Alatau, 850 - 940 m above sea level, Esentai and the Big Almaty rivers.
