The white-bellied redstart is an enchanting bird from the Muscicapidae family, frequently found in temperate forests across various countries, including Bhutan, China, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Initially classified under the genus Hodgsonius, a significant molecular study conducted in 2010 prompted a revision. This research revealed a close relationship between the white-bellied redstart and the common nightingale, resulting in its reclassification into the genus Luscinia.
