Synagogue in Daugavpils, called Kadisz - a synagogue located in Daugavpils at 38 Cietokšņa Street.
The synagogue was built in 1850 - as the oral message says - on the initiative of the Dźwiński Jew who wants to celebrate his late brother in this way, hence her usual name comes. During World War II it was devastated. After its completion, Daileburg Jews were still gathering in it - on holidays their number reached up to 600, and the walls of the synagogue were filled to the brim. In 2003, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Marek Rothko - an American artist from the Rotkowicz family settled in Daress in Daress - his family decided to make his financial contribution to the renovation of the synagogue, next to the money extended by the Congress Commission for the Protection of American Heritage abroad. The works began in spring 2003 and lasted three years.
On April 11, 2006, the President of Latvia Vaira Vīķe-Freiberg, the local authorities of the city and representatives of Christian denominations, participated in the re-opening ceremony of the synagogue on April 11, 2006.
She was one of over 40 synagogues in Daugavpils.
