Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Merecz - a Catholic church in Merecz.
The church in Merecz was funded by Władysław Jagiełło in the first half of the 15th century in the Gothic style. In 1648 the church was rebuilt at the expense of Władysław IV in the Renaissance style. In 1884 a vestibule was added.
The church on a rectangular plan has three equal naves, five -closed presbytery and one sacristy and a vestibule. The windows have arc closures. The walls of the church are strengthened with stepped scarps. A three -storey pediment was built over the facade, which is decorated with pilasters, cornices, volutes, pinacles and recesses. A similar front is above the vestibule facade.
In the interior of the church there are 5 baroque altars from the 18th and 19th centuries and paintings from the 17th century.
In the nineteenth century, the church was surrounded by a wall of field stones with a two-storey gate-beaten gate.
