De Lelie, Ommen
Facts and practical information
De Lelie is a corn mill in Ommen in the Dutch province of Overijssel. The mill was built in 1846. After years of neglect, the mill was sold to the municipality of Ommen in 1970 for five thousand guilders on the condition that the mill would be restored and used as a corn mill again. After the restoration in 1973 and 1974 the mill is in professional use thanks to a professional miller.
The mill is currently equipped with four pairs of grinding stones. In addition, the mill is very well equipped as a corn mill and completely ready for operation. The mill's rods are over 21 metres long. The inner-rods have the jib-system and sails, the outer-rods have the Old-Dutch system with sails. The current owner is the municipality of Ommen.
