Nieuwerkerkse Molen, Duiveland
Facts and practical information
The Nieuwerkerk mill is a corn mill in Nieuwerkerk in the Dutch municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland. The mill was built in 1844 as a replacement for a wooden octagonal mill that had burned down after lightning strikes. In 1970, the mill was sold to the then Duiveland municipality.
The mill was preserved after the flood of 1953 but has had problems for a long time due to the salt water that has been in and around the mill. In September 2004, the lower meters of the hull were repointed for this reason. In early 2008, the pot rod was restored.
