Facts and practical information
The Aeolus is a corn mill in Dreischor, named after the Greek god of wind, Aeolus. The mill was built in 1739 and was in operation until 1962, after which the mill passed into private hands and was given a residential use. In 2000 the mill was bought by the municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland and in 2001/02 the interior and exterior were restored.
Initially the mill was called Oostmolen, since there was another mill on the west side of Dreischor. Also, the mill was called De Koekoek for a period, the name Aeolus was restored in the 1960s.
